MBAs in UK intends not only to train minds but also to develop the range of intellectual and
practical skills in students who can then become effective specialists in the global knowledge economy with
traditional boundaries between sectors breaking down. Universities in UK preferably seek experienced learners to join their
MBA. Level 7 qualifications are at a level equivalent to Masters Degrees, Postgraduate Certificates and Postgraduate
Diplomas and provides you with valuable insight into the working world. Hence this qualification is recognised as a
pre-requisite/entry qualification for many UK University MBA Programmes.
In addition, the BTEC Level 7 Extended Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership is a
valuable qualification in its own right as it prepares graduates from any discipline for a career in Management,
or an executive or management role in any industry sector. Alternatively, a student can progress on to an MBA
or specialist MSc programme (also known as MS in the US) in any management discipline, or pursue a professional
qualification in Accountancy, Marketing and Human Resource Management etc.
Successful candidates can apply for MBA (Top Up) at reputed UK universities. Students must
meet the University entry criteria in order to obtain entry for MBA (Top Up). Edexcel Level 7 BTEC Extended
Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership gives you 120 credit points out of the total 180 credit points
from the MBA Programme. This transfer of credit enables students to complete their top up MBA programs in a
shorter duration for a lesser cost.
A significant benefit of achieving this qualification is that successful students will
be automatically entitled to become members of the UK’s foremost bodies for Professional Managers, the
Chartered Management Institute, and will be eligible to use the designation of MCMI after their name
(depending on the level of previous work experience). This demonstrates your competence as a trained manager
and only 20% of UK managers are qualified in this way.
