Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) - Edexcel Pathway (HND + BA(Hons) in Business)

Bachelors programs in UK are innovative programmes that are designed in conjunction with leading industrialists - providing themes of knowledge management, sustainability and leadership. The UK Business Management courses will equip you with key business skills and the ability to fulfil your potential within multinational organisations. Transferable skills that are necessary for a career in Business Management are developed through engagement with real life business issues, enabling the study of key aspects of management and leadership.

Scope & Objective

Graduates with a strong awareness of business, economics and people management are in demand across a range of sectors. Not every boss can boast of having a degree in how to manage staff, but graduates with management studies degrees will have had a thorough grounding in what it takes to be an effective manager. As the name suggests, management studies looks at the theory and practice of management, taking in areas such as business and economics, human resources, operations and information systems, as well as touching on topics such as ethics and management in a national and international context. Graduates emerge with a strong awareness of business, economics and people management, making them highly sought after for graduate trainee schemes in a whole range of sectors.

Management studies graduates work in a range of professions including marketing, sales, finance and retail. Almost 65% of 2009 graduates went into full-time employment. Of those, 22% work in the commercial, industrial and public management sectors. Others found work as health professionals (14.8%), in retail (14.4%) and marketing (12.5%). Graduate recruiters look for applicants with the potential to progress to leadership or managerial roles, so graduates who have studied management are widely sought across all sectors for their graduate schemes.

Course Structure & Credit Transfers

Every Univeristy program expresses the structure of most of its taught programmes in terms of credits. Each programme unit has a tariff of credit points to indicate the volume of learning; credit points represents the hours of student effort spent on learning activities, including all forms of study, preparation of assignments, revision and assessment. BBAs/BA(Hons)/BSc(Hons) in UK Universities are normally structured with 360 credits. Credits are awarded to students who successfully complete a programme unit, by attending as required and satisfying the criteria for assessment. Credit Transfers help to demonstrate what a student has already studied successfully, and thus facilitates decisions about the movement of students between programmes and from one institution to another.
